First Impressions
The first in-class activity was the ice breaker. We were assigned to pick a class mate and introduce ourselves. My chosen partners name was Andrew he chose to take career planning and preparation so he could fill his credits for this fall semester. He hopes to learn more about careers and preparation for a interviews. Andrew is a full time student and is really interested in becoming a business man preferably in hotel management. His parents run a hotel in Las Vegas this is how he has gained all his experience up to this point in his life. Andrews favorite past time hobby is baseball. He is exceptionally great at pitching for his passion which is baseball.
In our class our teacher then explained the syllabus. She then laid down the rules for the class. She also explained or first homework assignment. The class then went over a powerpoint presented by Professor Char Perlas the topic was the current highest paying jobs. The top five paying jobs are all in the medical field. Good thing I chose this field for my career goal. My dream job is to become a certified chiropractor.
The next discussed subject was on Mesa which is math, engineering, and science achievement. Which Professor Char Perlas is the Division Chair for this student services here at Mission College.
Professor Perlas then briefly went over due dates. Then physically showed us how to use Angel properly. She also explained what a hybrid class was which is half in-class and half online.
The things I hope to learn in career planning and preparation is as follows:
Career fields I myself would be great at performing
skills that will improve my presentations
how to conduct myself during a job interview
learning more about fields that I am unaware of
learn more computer savy skills
learning more on job wording and communication in the work place
